A very kind family in Santa Monica is searching for a nanny for their (almost) 4-year-old and (almost) 6-year-old outdoor/nature loving boys! Dad works and travels frequently; Mom stays at home with her kids but is ready to find some professional help. They would like a professional, career nanny to join their family.
The position is openly available to start as soon as they find their nanny and the schedule is M-F from 2pm-7pm with occasional weekends/overnights once everyone is comfortable! More hours are available for the right fit. The family is offering $35-$40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits also include paid time off.
In terms of duties, the children will take priority. They are looking for someone experienced in respectful parenting, and ideally someone who has worked with children with behavioral challenges, knowing how to enforce boundaries gently and without shame. The best candidate is curious about behavior as “communication”, willing to take the time to understand what a child needs and to help them find the words to express those needs. If a candidate wishes to work additional hours, help with children’s laundry, child related tidying/organizing/meal prep and some errand running while the kids are in school would be requested. Please note that the family has one senior dog present for a limited amount of the time (kept in a separate area.)
The requirements for this position are as follows:
· At least 10 years of professional childcare experience with verifiable references
· Clean criminal/driving record and a safe reliable vehicle for driving the children (mileage reimbursed)
· Fluent English speaker
· CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
· A degree in child psychology/child development/education a plus
· Experience working with children who have behavioral challenges a huge plus
· Covid vaccinated preferred
· Passport ready preferred
