FAQ
What is the going rate for a professional live out nanny?
Every nanny is different, and comes with their own list of credentials, educational background, special skills and years of experience. Their rates are based on these qualifications, the number of children in your family, requirements and job expectations. Nay's Nannies only considers candidates with a minimum of 5 years of professional childcare experience. Rates for professional live out nannies in the Los Angeles area currently start at $30-$35 hourly, and can go up depending on a variety of factors. As the employer of your nanny, you will be solely responsible for all of the legal obligations involved; worker's compensation, insurance, payment/tax withholding, etc. While Nay's Nannies does not offer any official advice in regards to these responsibilities, it is strongly recommended that you contact your insurance broker and your accountant as well as use a payroll service such as Homework Solutions or Poppins Payroll, in order to ensure you are meeting these obligations and paying your nanny properly.
What does your vetting procedure include?
After Renee has a clear picture of what you are searching for and what your position will look like, she begins by going through her current database of prescreened nannies and reaching out to local nannies in her network. If needed, she posts your job in multiple places, collects and reviews resumes, virtually interviews candidates and personally speaks with references, all in order to put together detailed biographies for the nannies she believes could potentially be right for you. She sends you these biographies along with resumes and schedules virtual interviews on your behalf. If you wish to move forward after your interview with a nanny, she offers the candidate a one-day job with your family (otherwise known as a paid trial day.) Once they confirm interest, she will initiate a detailed background check with a reputable private investigator in her network (*Please note that these background checks are coordinated by this service, but you will be billed separately for each screening at a rate of $75 per applicant.) After trialing a nanny, you may choose to offer them a position and if they accept, Renee will assist you in drafting a work agreement for everyone to approve of prior to the first day. From start to finish, Renee at Nay's Nannies is here for you!
How long does it take to match a family with a nanny?
Sometimes matches are made in a matter of days and other times, it takes a month or longer. On average, searches with Nay's Nannies result in a successful match within approximately 1-3 weeks. Renee promises to keep you very much up to date on where she is in your search along the way. While she will not rush the process, she can assure you that she will work as quickly and as efficiently as possible to secure your nanny in a timely manner. She also asks that your family remains engaged and makes the time necessary to promptly meet with and trial candidates, which can make an enormous difference in both timing and in the ultimate success of the search.
