A super respectful and kind, newly single dad (in the process of an amicable divorce) is looking for part time help with his two young boys (ages 2 and 4) in Westwood! The position can start right away, or wait until the new year for the right fit.
Dad is a retired stay at home dad and is on the spectrum (low support required, he is independent and only recently stopped working.) He needs afternoon support with his children, who are his whole life. He says the nanny he hires “…would be an extraordinarily valued and respected part of the household.” The family has one small, friendly lap dog, so animal lovers are welcome!
The guaranteed schedule will be Monday-Thursday from 3pm-8pm. Some requests may be made for Friday hours, if/when available. Ideally, this would be a long-term arrangement (could turn into a full-time role) but please be able to commit for at least the next full year.
The pay being offered for this position is $35-$40 per hour depending on experience, plus standard paid time off.
Please have a minimum of 5 years’ professional childcare experience (beginning at the age of 18) and a genuine love for kids; someone who truly enjoys active/imaginative play would be encouraged to apply. A clean driving record (California driver’s license) with a safe and reliable vehicle, clean criminal background, current CPR/FA certification (in person class) and covid vaccination with a booster are requirements. Flu shot is preferred. Strong English is needed, and a second language would be a plus but not a requirement. Experience working with those on the spectrum is a huge bonus. Please be warm, fun, responsible and reliable. Must be legal to work in the US.
The primary responsibility for this position is childcare; help with pickups, drop offs, accompanying to playdates (supporting dad with social situations), park visits, etc. Some help with dog walking would be requested from time to time, as would child-related only housework (basic meal prep, tidying after the kids, kid laundry.)
