Incredible Weekend and Travel Nanny Position for Two School-Aged Boys! UPDATE: THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED!

We have an incredible Friday-Sunday + travel opportunity for a super organized, fun, playful, reliable nanny for two school-aged boys! Potential to make well over $100K a year. Please see below for the details!

Start Date: ASAP!

Location: West LA (Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, eventually the Palisades)

Parents: Divorced couple, coparenting successfully. Dad (works full time but is around and involved when he has the kids) and Mom (Works remotely from home.) Kids are on every other week schedule with each parent. When one parent has the kids, the other is usually not in town. They have a full time nanny during the week.  

Children: Two boys, ages 6 years and 11 years. Smart, active and fun boys who have sibling squabbles.

Pets: Mom has a gecko, and Dad has a cat and 2 dogs (a one 3-legged senior Pit Bull and one Great Dane) Must love animals. There will be times where they will need some help with the pets.

Guaranteed Schedule: F, Sat, Sun 7am-7pm. Sometimes may request a bit earlier start time. Occasional requests for other days if their full-time nanny is sick or on vacation.

Longevity: Long term!

Pay: $50 per hour

Benefits: Standard PTO, sick days, holidays (may be traveling on some holidays, will provide double time if working one of them.) Health insurance assistance if needed.

Requirements:

·      5+ years of professional childcare experience starting at the age of 18 (including at least 3 years as a nanny and experience traveling with families)

·      Competent driver with a clean record (each home has a nanny car)

·      Clean criminal record (willing to undergo a thorough background check and register with Trustline)

·      Fully fluent in English both written and spoken

·      Legal authorization to work in the US

·      Current in-person CPR/FA

·      No specific vaccine requirements but not opposed to vaccinations

·      College coursework is a plus

·      Ability to help a bit with basic homework

·      Tech savvy (working knowledge on how to set up devices so the kids can't access certain things, for example.)

·      Skilled in the art of child spying (for example, able to subtly take note of what they are watching and determine whether what they are watching is appropriate.)

·      Capable swimmer (both in the pool and the ocean for Hawaii trips!)

·      Valid passport and willingness to travel with the family

Personality/Vibe: This family is really looking for a teammate. They would like some who is responsible, reliable, mature, smart, organized, patient (experience with two boys is helpful) and playful but with a strong ability to maintain boundaries (play referee between the boys.) Their ideal nanny will be levelheaded, with a good sense of fairness and an ability to determine age-appropriate behaviors for the two with a solid voice of authority that is appropriate for the age of each child, carrying forward the parent’s desires in how they wish to raise their children. They would also like someone who is outgoing and creative, able and willing to play games with, entertain, and keep up with two busy, active boys. Mom and Dad have relatively consistent parenting styles, but mom’s house is admittedly a bit stricter with boundaries. You will have the opportunity to trial at both homes to see the dynamics!

Duties:

·      Coordinating the boys’ school schedules, playdates, sports, appointments, and extracurricular activities

·      Keeping calendars, uniforms, equipment, and school-related items organized

·      Packing and organizing for family trips and helping the boys prepare for travel

·      Planning and cooking healthy meals (for the children) and preparing nutritious school snacks

·      Helping with bath and bedtime routines

·      Organizing clothing, backpacks, and supplies for the following day

·      Providing age-appropriate homework and schoolwork support

·      Actively engaging with the boys through sports, outdoor activities, games, and creative play

·      Helping the boys care for their pets and encouraging age-appropriate responsibility (while also providing pet care, when needed)

·      Respecting and helping balance the boundaries and routines of both households while providing consistency for the boys and their parents

·      Anticipating the children’s needs and helping daily routines run smoothly

·      Family errands while the boys are in school on Fridays
