Full Time Temp Nanny for Two in Mar Vista! UPDATE: THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED!

A very kind family of 4 in Mar Vista is looking for a temporary full-time nanny. The details for the position are below. Please read IN FULL and follow the submission instructions to apply provided that you meet ALL the listed requirements. Thank you!

Start Date: ASAP (by September 23)

Location: Mar Vista

Parents: Mom and dad both work from home. They are present parents but working parents. Down to earth.

Children: One 6-year-old boy and one 14-month-old girl

Pets: One dog (friendly) no duties related to the dog

Guaranteed Schedule: M-F 7:15am-5pm 

Longevity: Until January, to cover their current long-term nanny who is having knee surgery.

Pay: $40 per hour (firm)+ paid time off and a modest healthcare stipend

Requirements:

·       5+ year professional childcare experience starting at the age of 18 (in-person) with verifiable, impeccable references

·       Toddler experience

·       Familiar with developmental milestones

·       Ability to juggle two children of very different ages, balancing your attention, engaging with both kids (and experience doing so)

·       A clean criminal background (Trustline registered or willing)

·       Covid initial vaccine with at least one booster

·       Annual flu shot

·       Clean driving record (family car available)

·       Fluent English speaking

·       Capable of making healthy, nutritious meals for the kids

·       Authorized to work in the US

·       Comfortable working in a Jewish home

Personality/Vibe: The ideal nanny for this family will be warm, calm, mellow, mature, reliable, responsible, with a good head on their shoulders. Please be confident, not overly indulgent with older child (loving but firm), engaging, and interactive. Someone who will get down and play and read with the kids, willing to also go outside and play, let them play in the dirt and dig, (don’t need shoes to go in the backyard, for example). They want a good relationship with their nanny but do desire a level of professionalism. Also, someone with social skills who can navigate when family comes over (for example, when grandma visits, let the kids hang with her and go do other things, but check in to make sure she doesn’t need help.) 

Duties: Child related and help keeping the kitchen maintained (Have a housekeeper 2X a week and additional childcare help on Tuesday and Friday afternoons!)

Travel: Passport a plus. Nice option. But not a dealbreaker or an expectation.
