Full Time Nanny Position for One Baby Girl in Mar Vista! UPDATE: THIS POSITION HAS BEEN OFFERED TO A NANNY AND ACCEPTED. FINALIZING.

A really warm and welcoming family in Mar Vista is looking for a nanny for their 6-month-old baby girl! The details are below. Please read this post all the way through and if the position appears to be a fit, follow the submission instructions to apply!

Start Date: July 13

Location: Mar Vista

Parents: Both mom and dad work full time, mom from home!

Children: One healthy 6-month-old baby girl

Pets: One dog, so must be comfortable (very friendly, doesn’t shed, on the smaller side) no expectations for him other than filling water bowl or letting him out.

Guaranteed Schedule: M-F 8am-4pm. (Please note that mom is working at 80% for the first 8 weeks so will ask for a bit of temporary flexibility with the hours in order to get to 40, moving some hours to evenings for date nights pending the nanny's availability.) Once mom goes back to work full time, the pay for the specific schedule of 8am-4pm will be guaranteed.

Longevity: One year minimum (family may grow so if the fit is right, there is the potential for longer term!)

Pay: $35 per hour (firm)

Benefits: Standard paid time off (as listed in the work agreement)

Requirements:

·       5+ years of professional experience starting at the age of 18 (if you have raised your own children, that is a plus!)

·       Fluent English speaking

·       Tagalog (dad is Filipino!) or Spanish speaking is a plus

·       Legal authorization to work in the US

·       Current in person cpr/fa certification

·       A clean criminal background (willing to undergo thorough background check and register with Trustline if not already listed)

·       Clean driving record for potential future driving

·       A safe, reliable vehicle would be a plus

·       Covid vaccinated/flu shot/current tdap would be a plus

Personality/Vibe: The ideal candidate is a natural caregiver — someone joyful, calm, intuitive and genuinely nurturing. Not performatively warm, but quietly confident: the kind of person who observes before acting, reads the baby's cues, and matches her energy rather than imposing their own.

The family is looking for someone knowledgeable about 6–18-month milestones, experienced with food introduction and sleep best practices, and comfortable taking baby to the park, classes, or the library as she grows. Experience supporting a bottle transition for a primarily breastfed baby is a plus — the family anticipates a gentle ramp period and wants someone patient and experienced with that process.

The ideal candidate is willing to build trust slowly and let the relationship develop naturally. Eventually this person may feel like part of the family — but the hope is that happens organically, not forced.

Mom works from home and would love to join if her day ends early. The ideal candidate is completely comfortable with that and welcomes her joining when she can. This is someone who is fully present during working hours — phone use is reserved for emergencies and true downtime, not a backdrop to the day.

This is a home that values calm, presence, and genuine attentiveness over busyness. If you're someone who finds deep satisfaction in watching a baby figure out the world — and in being a steady, joyful presence while she does — this might be the right fit.
