JUST IN!
A lovely family of four in the Larchmont area of LA is looking for a new full-time nanny to begin at the end of July! Please read this post IN FULL and if you meet all of the requirements, kindly follow the submission instructions to apply. Thank you!
Start Date: End of July
Location: Larchmont (Someone who has worked in this area before would be a plus. They need a nanny who can integrate into the nanny community there!)
Parents: Mom and dad both work full time. Dad works from home and mom works from an office most of the time.
Children: One newborn baby girl (app. 2 months old when the position starts) and one 2.5-year-old boy who will be starting preschool from 8am-2:30pm in August.
Pets: One super sweet labrador. Must love dogs!
Guaranteed Schedule: M-F 7am-6pm with flexibility to stay a bit longer on occasion (Please note that the family realizes this is a lot of hours and encourages breaks when there is time to do so.)
Longevity: Long term!
Pay: $40 per hour
Benefits: Standard paid time off
Requirements:
• 10+ years professional experience working with children starting at the age of 18
• Experience working with multiple young children at once
• Well versed in infant and toddler development
• Flexible in terms of some extra hours here and there
• Able to keep up with a toddler and infant at the same time and handle stairs (physically demanding job)
• Safety minded/street wise
• Spanish and English fluency needed
• Covid vaccinated (initial)
• Current tdap
• Annual flu shot
• Current CPR/FA certification in-person
• Clean driving record
• Legal authorization to work in the US
• A fully clean criminal history (willing to undergo a thorough background check and to register with Trustline if not already on the registry.)
• A safe reliable vehicle would be a plus but there will likely be a family vehicle for use
Parents say: We're looking for someone whose presence makes the whole house feel calmer. Someone who walks through the door each morning with quiet confidence, brings order to busy days, thinks a few steps ahead, and makes us feel like, "We've got this." We're looking for a true partner who isn't afraid to share ideas, help us think ahead to new stages of childhood, and use their experience to make our family stronger. We value open communication, mutual trust, and someone who feels empowered to say, "Here's what I've seen work." In terms of milestones, “We'd love someone who enjoys planning age-appropriate activities, introducing new experiences (museums, music classes, farmer's market, library story time), encouraging language development (including Spanish), and partnering with parents through transitions like preschool adjustment and potty training for the toddler, and solids and movement with the infant.”
Duties:
• Childcare is the priority
• Aside from child related chores (child meal prep, child laundry), when the nanny has taken their breaks and there is time (such as when the older child is in school and the baby is asleep), additional household support would be appreciated immensely (no deep cleaning, think taking out the garbage if it's full, some family laundry help, light tidying, calling vendors if something is broken, putting groceries away, errands (during times where dad is home with sleeping baby for instance.) But the family is reasonable and also wants to ensure their nanny has adequate rest time.
Travel: Occasional domestic travel is a plus but not required
Submission Instructions: If this position speaks to you and you meet ALL the posted requirements, please send your professional childcare resume in word or pdf format to naysnannies@gmail.com with the subject line LARCHMONT.
Thank you again for reading!
