A truly warm and loving family of 3 in Pasadena is looking for a new long-term family assistant/nanny for their 4-year-old daughter! Please read the details below in full and follow the instructions to submit.
Start Date: Asap
Location: Pasadena (near the Rose Bowl)
Parents: Mom and dad both work full time, with a typical week consisting of each of them going into their offices a few days each week. The rest of the week they work from home.
Child: One 4.5-year-old girl with a bright, fun, and outgoing personality. “She is very smart, social, and engaging. She does best with a caregiver who is confident and consistent—someone who can set clear ground rules, say “no” when needed, and enforce boundaries in a loving, caring, and respectful way. She loves singing, dancing, playing dress-up, and imaginative play, especially pretending to run a restaurant or grocery store. She enjoys being active, going on fun outings, and interacting with others in the community.” They really need someone who can ease into things with their daughter as the priority at first, allowing her time to connect and warm up through fun activities that cater to her interests.
Pets: One mini golden doodle ( very sweet. Please love dogs.
Guaranteed Schedule: M-F 10:30am-5:30pm (the child is in school all day, so there will definitely be a lot of down time and late starts but guaranteed this pay regardless!) Flexibility for extra hours (8:30am start) during summers and school breaks is VERY HELPFUL.
Longevity: Long term, many years. Consistency is so important to this family.
Pay: $35 per hour
Benefits: Standard paid time off
Requirements:
• 5+ years professional experience starting at the age of 18 (open to all ages)
• Legal authorization to work in the US
• Fluent English speaker (Spanish speaking is a HUGE plus)
• Current CPR/FA certification in-person
• A clean driving record and a safe, reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursement)
• Clean criminal background (willing to undergo a thorough background check and apply for Trustline if not already on the registry.)
• College educated would be a bonus, but it is not a requirement
The parents say: “We are an easy-going, loving family with traditional parenting values. We’re looking for someone who wants to become a true part of our family and be included in our daily life, not just an employee. Our hope is to build a long-term relationship with someone who is caring, kind, and invested in our daughter’s growth and well-being—and who feels the same care and respect in return. We are very respectful of our nanny’s time and personal boundaries and understand that they have a life outside of work. In return, we value consistency, reliability, and setting a positive, respectful example for our daughter. Open and honest communication is important to us, as we believe it creates the best environment for both our family and the person working with us. Our current nanny would be happy to serve as a reference. While we have busy schedules, we value being present parents and take advantage of working from home whenever possible to stay actively involved in our daughter’s day-to-day life.” They would love someone maternal, warm, outgoing, and nurturing.
Duties: When the child is in school, family assistant duties would include grocery shopping, preparing school lunch, running errands, helping with keeping the child’s areas tidy, family laundry, light tidying (dishes, folding things) and dog walks.
Travel: Occasional local overnight trips
