Family Assistant Position for Family of Four in Brentwood!

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Brentwood, CA (until Oct 2027, then the Palisades once their home rebuilding is complete after losing it in the fires)

Parents: Both college professors who sometimes work from home, but are realistic about it regarding the kids and try not to be disruptive

Children: One 4-year-old boy and one 7-year-old girl

Pets: None

Guaranteed Schedule: M-F 12pm-6pm (30 hours guaranteed) with some date night requests. More hours available during the summer and on school closures, if desired.

Longevity: Long term

Pay: $40 per hour with annual pay increases

Benefits: Standard paid time off and a modest healthcare stipend

Non-negotiable Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional childcare experience starting at age 18

• Current CPR/FA in-person certification

• Legal authorization to work in the US

• Clean criminal history (willing to undergo thorough background check and register with Trustline if not already listed)

• Clean driving record

• A safe, reliable vehicle for short distances (mileage reimbursement provided for on the job driving)

• Ability to swim (family has a pool)

• Fluent English speaking

• Covid vaccinated (annual boosters strongly encouraged)

• Annual flu shot

Nice-to-Haves

• A second language

• A college degree would be a strong plus

Personality/Vibe: This family is seeking a nanny who is affectionate, very warm and expressive (in particular, for their youngest child who loves to give hugs!) Someone with a calming presence to handle an energetic, opinionated 4-year-old boy, and who doesn’t get flustered and can engage him in quiet activities such as puzzles and reading would be a great fit. Also, someone who has the energy to roughhouse and run around with him. Ideally, their new nanny is also someone who can engage their older child (she loves dress up, tabletop activities, etc.) when she is around, though she is pretty independent. The ability to juggle two kids when they are both home is needed (they love baking together so someone who would enjoy that with them would be nice!) The parents are very kind. Mom is more introverted; dad is more outgoing. They are both working professionals who value reading with the children but are realists and do use screens with the kids, but in moderation. They are seeking a nanny who will become an extension of the family.

Duties:

• Childcare first and foremost; the children are the priority

• When both kids are in school (2+ hours most days):

o All housework related to the children: their dishes, meals, laundry, tidying, etc.

o Family assistant duties: grocery shopping, errands/amazon returns, dry cleaning, organizational projects, scheduling/overseeing repairs, resetting the kitchen from breakfast, light tidying/loading and unloading dishwasher.

Travel: Possibly in the future so someone open to it would be great!
