Interviewing prospective nannies can seem daunting at first...but it doesn't have to be! Whether in person or over zoom, having a list of questions on hand will make the initial process that much smoother! Here are some suggested questions, but be sure to personalize and tailor your list to your family's own unique situation!
How long have you been working as a nanny? Were any of the positions long term?
What do you find to be the most challenging part of working with (this) age group?
Have you received CPR/First Aid Training and all required vaccinations?
Are there any chores listed in the job description that would make you feel uncomfortable?
What about your job do you find most rewarding?
Describe your ideal nanny family.
Describe a challenging moment you had with a child and how you handled it.
What do you do when a child in your care is not behaving in the way you would like them to?
Have you ever had to leave a position on less than amicable terms?
What are some activities you enjoy doing when you aren't working?
